Together As We Go...

Wild within reason. Controlled chaos. Manageably messy.

That's us.  The family pictured here was not fashioned in the usual sense. My life has often felt upside down and wrong way 'round. I started working full time and then I graduated high school. I landed my dream job and then I earned a degree in that field. I loved and cared for some amazing children, and then I became a mom. Motherhood has been no different. The first child to ever call me Mama is not my eldest. My baby child is actually the middle in order of arrival.

And we love that.  The unfathomable nature of God's plan is incredibly entertaining. As believers, there is no denying the truth that the Creator is the one driving the bus. Of course, I don't mean the white, 15-passenger kidnapper-style church bus currently sitting in my driveway. No, that honor belongs to me. But following Christ means realizing that He is the only one qualified to make the calls. While I've definitely done my share of attempted wheel snatching, He is faithful to correct the course. Oh, what I would have missed! (Proverbs 3:5-6)

Now, at 36 years old, I'm a homeschooling, self-employed Mama to 7 incredibly brilliant boys through foster/adoption. For Christian parents, the most important mission is that our children are raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Eph 6:4). If they know nothing else, I want them to know that Mommy follows Jesus. Let me be clear:  I feel fabulously underqualified to present any advice on parenting, fostering, homeschooling, or life in general. However, if I can encourage others by sharing our stories of family and faith, then I would love for you to join me as we navigate the ministry of home.
